about

"The black dot" a term most closely associated to melanin and the pineal gland. Look up the work of Dr. Richard D. King M.D. R.I.P.

I named this song in honor of a brother I met randomly during Harlem week in 2005. He was promoting his new book "Hip Hop Decoded." I must say that while I don't agree with all his judgment and theories, he is definitely an elevated thinker. Black Dot is the first person I ever heard speak of chakras in regards to Emceeing so hats off to him for expanding the realm of Hiphop within my consciousness.

Also, I read a couple years back that a black dot drawn on someone's hand was a quiet indication of domestic abuse. Ever since Common's "I used to Love Her" track we tend to personify Hiphop as a lady and I could've sworn I saw her casually supporting this cry for help.

Well-rounded, insightful, and thought provoking—"SpideR-$tyleZ" is not your average run-of-the-mill rapper.

A bit of an anomaly, his music is composed of both the sacred and the profane; Topics range from self-reflection to social commentary, chasing skirts to seeking love, and street tales to mystic revelations.
